Local SEO for your Local Business

Local SEO for your Local Business

Local SEO tends to change very rapidly and the type of links you want to focus on will be different compared to regular SEO campaigns. Different factors will effect ranking within your local SEO campaign. Local reviews, my business signals and local NAP citations have a big effect on your listing.

Remember to claim your Google my business page that includes description with links, correct business categories, photos, phone number, address, opening hours and days and reviews. Local reviews are extremely important to local SEO. They really have an impact on local search rankings. Do not hesitate to ask happy customers or clients to write you a review. You can offer incentives such as a percentage off services, a gift card or a meal at a local restaurant. You can leave tips on how to write a review on your website. They can be written via Google, Yelp or other directories, Google being the most important of course!

Make sure your NAP (name address and phone number) is on every page of your website. Be sure add your region and city where ever possible, such as your landing page title tag, H1 tag and your landing page URL. Having a Google map showing your business location on your landing is very effective as well.

Is your website mobile friendly? This is important with the mobile search update operated by Google. Building up local links is another important factor. Think about sponsoring local events relevant to your business, try to get local press coverage and enter local awards. All of this will get you noticed and improve your local SEO.
