CSMS Goes to Tiwi, Albay to Help Landslide and Flood Victims

It was December 29, 2018, when typhoon ‘USMAN’ made landfall in the Philippines that affected five provinces in the country including the Bicol Region. The tropical storm has caused heavy rain and massive flooding and landslides in different areas in Albay, particularly in Joroan, Tiwi. The municipality of Tiwi recorded the highest casualties in Albay due to multiple landslides. Several houses and infrastructures were completely ruined.

As our way of giving back to the community, we organized an outreach program titled “OPERATION TABANG TIWI EXPRESS” to help the affected residents in Tiwi. Our team went to the area last January 5, 2019 to distribute relief goods, such as bottled mineral water, rice, biscuits, canned goods, coffee, sugar, old clothes, and personal hygiene kits (body soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, alcohol, shampoo) to 100 families.

Through the collaborative efforts of our bosses and the entire team at Cornerstone Marketing Solutions, the relief operation was a success. Also, with the help of our contact person in Tiwi, the distribution process went smoothly.

Seeing the smiles in their faces, all our efforts paid off. CSMS was proud to take part in this charitable cause in support of our fellow Albayanos who were victims of typhoon Usman. Let’s continue to pray for their revival and complete recovery from that tragic experience.
